Davidson football coach Scott Abell has resigned to take over Rice's program.
He turned around a struggling Davidson program with a 47-28 record over seven straight winning seasons, two Pioneer Football League title and three FCS playoff appearances.

The end of that last game aside, Scott did incredible things for that program. They also built and took ownership of an entirely new stadium in his tenure.

While we're here, DC got whacked by Arizona Wednesday night in the Battle for Atlantis, then came back and played a strong game against Providence (who were 5.5 point favorites) tonight. They'll face Gonzaga tomorrow.
I am 1-1 watching Davidson and the Zags. The first time I watched was the 2008 NCAA Tournament. They did alright that year. The second was in Seattle, when Gonzaga offered Davidson a rematch and pulled off the win.
DC is a good basketball team this year. But it'll be a tall order for them to make a run at #3 Zags.
