I agree with Westerncarolinafan. As a student I have heard rumblings on campus about some big changes coming to Cullowhee. The alcohol vote coming up is going to be the first step in the process. If that goes through its going to be a snowball effect from there. I can't wait to see the changes. If you haven't registered to vote I encourage you to do so. I'm actually excited that this school could be come a REAL college town.

I hope the vote passes, good new has been flow in left and right. first with the New HC and about us stealing some of the coaches from App. Now, news that Western might be getting a great DC from Coastal Carolina. DC would be the icing on the cake and the vote passing would be the cherry on top.
It might be a new era in Western history.
lets keep the good news flowing
GO CATS! ;D ;D ;D

westerncarolinafan, you are on point. Enough said.
Now let's enlist the alumni to support the plan and ensure it happens.

How would you be able to enlist Alumni to support this?
or go about it?
some more info.
A few week ago, I was talking to my uncle who play football under Bob Waters between 74 - 78. Him and my uncle talked over the years before coach Waters died form Lou Gehrig's disease in 1989.
"He said that he talked to coach Waters about why the football team was winning but still not getting a lot of good recruits. Coach Waters told Him that the staff is pushing Wsetern out there, But there is nothing at Western/Cullowhee to help recruit prospects. there are team like App/Boone NC,Furman/Greenville SC,East Tennessee Sate/Johnson City TN, and Chattanooga/Chattanooga TN are winning team too, but they have extra to offer. they are a lot of Winning teams out there, Western just needs to find away to get those extra thing to make it pop out to recruits."
I believe getting the alcohol sales passed is the stepping stone to getting Western to POP OUT for Prospects for athletic and academics.

Information from a site that alcohol sell help the towns. "More than 300 communities in Texas have approved alcohol sales since 2003. Many have seen an increase in revenue and other benefits as well. “Revenue has definitely increased in many of those towns, and several have lowered their property taxes,” said committee member Robert Viator. “Buda (Texas) has lowered its rates 27 percent over four years. The stimulation to the economy is amazing.”" here is the Link orangeleader.com/local/x57155232/Alcohol-sales-seen-as-means-to-growthI bet many people not know, because of Aramark witch is a monopoly on campus at Western. Student can't use their cat cards off campus, because Aramark has a hold on how and what student can use their card. If there were more business in Cullowhee, they could create a pull so that student can use the cat cards off campus. Only Cullowhee can do this, because Western wouldn't want their student driving all around Jackson County just to get a bit for lunch. Any way it he easier for student just to eat on campus, and not take the chance of being late to class. I think everyone can see the benefits of the student using their cards off campus. But this will not happen if Jackson county, does not take the next stepping stone by passing the sale of alcohol. In turn help Jackson County, Cullowhee, and Western Carolina. There are so many positives, it would be stupid not to vote for the sale of alcohol. All it would take is a check next to that little word YES to better the whole.

One of my friend's is a football player and he said their head coach told them that Budweiser wants to sponsor them. I'm guess only if the alcohol vote pass in May because what company will sponsor someone without alcohol sales. He also told me that him and a lot of other football player have register to vote in cullowhee.
