WCU's Preston Hatcher Named to NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch ListSenior closer Preston Hatcher was today listed on the initial watch list for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Stopper of the Year Award, given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I baseball. It is the second-straight year Hatcher has made the list.

In 2013, I expect he will have a lot of opportunities to come in and "close the hatch" on a Catamount victory. I hated he did not get drafted by MLB last Summer, because I know he kinda expected it. But, for our team's sake, I sure am glad he's back for his SR year. Now he can go ahead and get his degree BEFORE turning pro.
Outstanding young man from a nice family who represents WCU well.
