Not only did the CAA NOT get any additional bids to the NCAA tournament, their champion has to play in the "play-in games" to get to a 16 seed.
That looks real promising for CofC in their new conference.
"CAA champion James Madison (20-14) will face Northeast Conference champion LIU-Brooklyn (20-13) on Wednesday night in Dayton, Ohio jn the First Four of the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship."
I love the fact that Charleston is moving for the "opportunity" at an "at large" bid that the CAA will have "in the future", and their champion is playing in this years play in game. There regular season champ, Northeastern goes to the NIT since they lost in the championship game of their tournament. Had Northeastern won the CAA championship, they too would have probably been in the play-in game as well with a 20-12 record.
You just can't make this stuff up. Charleston will finally be in a conference they can win.

The arrest of James Madison’s top scorer is a fitting end to CAA’s basketball season. read more here sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaab-the-dagger/arrest-james-madison-top-scorer-fitting-end-caa-174315936--ncaab.html
