With the departure of ASU/GSU, the addition of another private school, as well as, bringing back VMI - is the Southern Conference where WCU now belongs.
The only school that Western has something in common with now will be UTC and ETSU. What happened if they both decide to bolt to the OVC in a couple of years. Do we want to be alone in a small school, private school conference?
Should we look at the OVC as well, or maybe even the Big South? I think the SoCon is moving away from the med. size public school.

We have been in a private school conference for years. Coastal would be in the SoCon if was not for the private schools blocking it. The problem now is where could WCU go? The 2 things needed to be wanted are good football and good basketball and well i think we all know where we stand in those 2 sports. Track and Baseball do not make $
