SoCon Defensive Player of the Week: Western Carolina LB Courtland Carson

Carson had a standout performance in a losing effort against Chattanooga, finishing the game with nine tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble. With his performance, Carson leads the Southern Conference with 65 tackles on the season.

Cortland has had a stellar season. Consistency has been his name all season. Thought there was no way anyone was going to be able to fill the large shoes of Rock Williams and Cortland has done that admirably. Congratulations to a good hard working young man.
