Congrats to Mutombo -
The London Lightning may have found their third Canadian.
They’re bringing in 6-foot-4 shooting guard and Toronto native Harouna Mutombo, the nephew of former NBA great Dikembe Mutombo who played college basketball at Western Carolina University.
He’ll replace the departed Antwi Atuahene.
Harouna lives with his uncle Dikembe, who adopted him when Harouna’s father, Dikembe’s brother, passed away.
During his senior season at Western Carolina, Mutombo averaged 14 points and six rebounds a game, earning Southern Conference all-tournament team honours.
“Harouna has been working out with NBA trainers in Atlanta, Georgia, and jumped at this opportunity. He comes well recommended by several NBA coaches and scouts and we look forward to having him in London,” Lightning general manager Taylor Brown said.
