High School: Starmount HS Height / Weight: 5-11 / 200 Position: LHP B/T: L/L 2013 (Freshman): Coming off an injury in high school, took a medical redshirt and sat out the season. Prior to Western Carolina: Was a left-handed pitcher and first baseman at Starmount HS, helping lead the Rams to the Mountain Valley Conference tournament title and No. 2 2-A seeding ... As a junior, compiled a .284 batting average with three homeruns, five doubles and 13 runs while also tossing 56.2 innings and allowing just 16 earned runs ... Finished with 85 strikeouts with a 1.98 ERA and a 4-5 record ... Played for the West All-Star team in the 2012 Powerade State Games of North Carolina held at Gene Hooks Field, the home of Wake Forest baseball ... Made relief appearances on the mound in the first game and pinch hit in the second game ... Also played for his high school head coach Mike McCann in the State Games in 2011 as a junior ...
