The Wofford Terriers travel up the mountain for a weekend series with the Cats. The Terriers come into Friday's first game with an overall 16-9 record, and 1-2 conference record, losing two to Davidson last weekend. The Cats swept the Terriers at Hennon Stadium a season ago to clinch the 2013 Southern Conference regular season championship in the next-to-last weekend of the season. The Catamounts leads the all-time series with Wofford, 61-17, including a 39-6 all-time mark in games played in Cullowhee. WCU has won all nine league series meetings at Hennon Stadium including five series sweeps.

Weather forecast for Cullowhee for Friday and Saturday is pretty ominous. Sunday is looking better, but I've never heard of a triple-header played in one day. Unless this forecast changes, we might lose another game.

Do you know if we are going to makeup the rained out games, with other opponents? I understand they (Mo, Randy, etc.?) are trying to schedule a couple of extra mid-week games to help make up for some of those we have lost to the weather. Don't know anything about how that process is going.

Jeremy Null had a very good outing last night. Gave up 2 singles and a BB in the 6th with only one out but worked out of the jam with a K and a fly ball to the OF. 7 innings; 8 K's; only 1 BB; shutout ball. Very good. Once again, going to the bullpen is like opening a box of Cracker Jacks. Good stickwork by many folks. Dykota Speiss was not dressed out due to a continuing, nagging rib injury. Starting Matt Smith in RF was a good move by the coaches. Wofford's entire lineup (except one) were RH batters. If they hit Null's pitches at all, they were swinging late and there were several fly balls to RF. Matt Smith has a good glove.
Today's game is at 5:00 vs. 2:00, as originally scheduled. Hopefully the rainstorm will have passed through by 5:00. If so, the issue will be the condition of the field. A DH on Sunday is always an option. Weather on Sunday is supposed to be great.
Go Cats!
