The Cats will travel to Asheville on Wednesday for the second game of the annual home and home series with the Bulldogs. Western Carolina visits Greenwood Field - the first on-campus meeting between the Cats and Dogs since 2004, as the Bulldogs dedicate their new lights in Greenwood Field. Thanks to a grant from the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority, both the soccer field and baseball fields now have lights. “We’re excited about our home game with Western Carolina and celebrating the fact we have lights,” stated Bulldog coach Tom Smith. “It should be a great night and hopefully we can play well and get a win against a very good Western Carolina ballclub.” Wednesday's meeting is the 75th all-time between WCU and UNCA, as WCU leads the all-time series with UNCA, 48-26, including the 4-1 victory last Tuesday in Cullowhee. UNCA is 6-8 at home this season and 11-22 overall. There will be NO Catamount Sports Network coverage of the UNCA game. The game can be seen for free on the Big South Digital Network under the multimedia tag at uncabulldogs.com.

Always dangerous UNC-A defeated Davidson in Asheville today (Tuesday) 12-10 and we go there tomorrow.
UNC-A's record was 11-22 coming into the game; Davidson's record was 20-8.
Don't believe it can't happen to us...

Sacramento State lost last night to Pacific in 14 innings. The Cats now own the longest winning streak in Div I baseball.

Let them load the bases in the bottom of the 7th on two infield hits and a HBP. But kept them off the board. Thankfully.

Bottom of the 8th saw a lot more Balls thrown than Strikes. Two runs given the the UNC-A Bulldogs. Finally out of the inning. Will Tyler Powell pitch the 9th also?

The answer is YES. T-Powell got 1-2-3 in the 9th. Final score 9-3. With UNC-A upsetting Davidson last night, this one had me concerned. Now, it's time to sweep Furman this weekend. Go Cats !
