Furman puts up 2 runs off a Paladin home run. Not a good way to start the day.
2-zip Furman

I've got to say, who ever is handling the camera today, must be the same as yesterday.
Very, very, poor camera work, as I think he/she goes to sleep between hitters and is always late in getting the camera moved to the outfield to cover balls going there.
You can forget seeing balls hit down the first or third base lines, they don't even try to cover those.
Is it worth the monthly fee. NO.

Furman has not won a conference series this season. It looks like that's about to change in Cullowhee.

The camera work has been just like the play on the field. Poor. Cats just walked in a run to make it 5-1 Furman.
I'm done.
This team does not have the pitching, (starters, relievers or closer) to match up with any SoCon team this season. The only way this team wins is to out hit their opponent, and that's not happening against the Paladins.

WE did not play well any of the 3 games this weekend, according to what I heard on the audio. And I wasn't influenced by the Furman announcer. Lucky to win one, no better than we played.

I want to put in perspective this past weekend for all of you. There is a young man on the team whose father has brain cancer that has spread to his spine and may not have very long to live. That young man's father was present at the game on Friday in a wheelchair and went out on to the field with all the boys and coaches. I can tell you there was not a dry eye amoung the players. That moment put it in perspective for me as well as the other fans in attendance including the Furman supporters. Baseball is just a game but the precious gift of life is far more. Yes, I have a son on the team. He called last night after the game not to talk about the game but to talk about what is going on with his teammate's father. So what, we lost the series to Furman. Furman is better than their record indicates. There is still a lot of baseball to play. If memory serves me correctly no team in the SoCon has won all of their games. This is still a good team. Therefore, some of you on the posts need to lighten up. Instead of being so hard on them, why don't you come and support the team like the rest of us do. Go Cats.

Bad weekend all the way around. Pitching Saturday and Sunday was off as was the hitting. The guys on the offensive side will bounce back and pick up their stroke. I was at the games and this was possibly the worse umping crew I've seen, there have been individual umps who were worse but the other guys on the crew picked up their slack, on this crew all three seemed to be watching a different game at times. The other thing that ticks me off is how a home team scorer can screw up and adversely affect home team players. There was one play were the infielder left his feet to dive for a ball, he did not make the play and was charged an error. There was another play where the second baseman made a great play and went deep in the hole to get the ball, on the throw to first the ball went into the ground and off the first baseman’s mitt, by this time the runner was safe at first, our scorer charged an error to the first baseman, on error shouldn't have been charged to anyone much less first base on a throw in the dirt. I know scoring can be difficult ( I have done it for several high level teams) but this is on the edge of obscene.
