Thanks for your thoughts dirtbag. I'm sure when Moranda announced he would become the pitching coach, quite a few, other than me, saw trouble on the horizon.
I think if Moranda had a pitching coach that produced the results Moranda has produced as pitching coach, he'd be shown the back door out.

I have been following several players from my area that have and are playing on Western's team. I would like to make some observations if I may. 1) With the exception of senior Tyler Powell Coach Moranda is the only college pitching coach the pitching staff has known. 2) The majority of the pitchers were either recruited or their recruitment signed off on by Coach Moranda. 3) That in the past 3 years there have been arm injuries that have led to pitchers being shut down, have limited playing time, have quit the team or have had surgery (just like Georgia Tech.).4) I have heard that when the prior pitching coach was released that Coach Moranda made the statement that now the responsibility for the success or failure of the pitching was his. I'm glad that the guys from my area are not pitchers. It would seem now is the time to make Coach Moranda accountable for the performance of the pitching staff and the injuries that the team has suffered to pitches and position players alike. It is hard to go into a game when you know that you must score 15+ runs a game to have a chance of winning (especially with several position players dealing with injuries). Sure Western has won the past 2 SoCon regular season titles but IMHO it was not because of the coach, the team had enough healthy talented players to win in spite of the coach. Every pitching staff on any level is going to have their share of arm injuries. Im curious to know how many guys you say have been injured in the past 3 years? Anyone who pitches will suffer some type of injury over their baseball playing days. The only questionable, actually very bad decision if ask me, injury related event i can think of is letting Null throw 128 pitches in complete game win vs Davidson in his last start before tourney. 2015 Barr-was probably injured in summer ball. Tried to throw through it fall 2014 Powell-Left summer ball early and missed start of season Null-Left summer early to rest because threw alot as sophomore Sandefur-Injured shoulder not related to baseball 2013 ? Some of the guys could probably do some extra running and lay off the cheese burgers and pizza which would help their arms. The quickest fix to a team and pitching staff is to bring in alot of JuCo players.
