Franklin senior Trey Maslin has accepted a preferred walk-on spot with the Western Carolina University baseball team.
Maslin was an All-Western North Carolina Athletic Conference shortstop for the Panthers (9-11) who batted .348 with 12 RBIs, 18 stolen bases, five doubles and a triple. He only had three strikeouts in 81 plate appearances.
