This is the best article of Tyler's assignment to the ML roster I have seen. His parents were in Florida for the last couple of days of Spring Training.
I cannot get the link directly to the article to work when I paste it into this message. You have to go to the Astros website.
MLB.com > Click on "TEAMS" on the top right of the page. > Choose Houston Astros from the team listing. Then find the article entitled "tyler-white-plays-his-way-onto-astros-roster"
Houston opens the regular season in Yankee Stadium on Monday, the 4th. Can you imagine playing in your first major league game in Yankee Stadium? Living the dream...
Good things happening for a great young man. Catamount nation is proud.

Houston came home to Minute Maid Park for the last two exhibition games yesterday and today. Played Milwaukee who stopped by on their way from Spring Training in AZ to Up-North.
Yesterday, Tyler did not start but entered the game at 1B in the 7th inning. Got one AB and produced a single that drove in the Astros' only run of the game. Brew Crew won 6-1.
Today, Tyler played the entire game at 1B and went 1 for 4. Second inning he hit a rope into the Crawford Boxes leading off the inning. His other 3 AB's were F-8, K, and P-2. Houston won 4-2.
Only negative today was a ground ball to 2B that Altuve made a throw in the dirt to 1B. Tyler did not handle it and Altuve got charged with an E. The announcers talked about the fact that a good scoop on his part could have prevented the error.
Next stop... Yankee Stadium on Monday to start a 3-game set.

Game is on ESPN starting at 1:00 pm today from Yankee Stadium. Be sure you have your recording device set.
One more item of interest (at least, it was of interest to me...)
Another player who made the 25-man roster this year is Matt Duffy. Matt is a utility infielder and also can play in the OF. Matt is from Mass. and played for the Univ. of Vermont CATAMOUNTS for 2 years. Then the school dropped baseball. Matt transferred to the Univ. of Tenn. and played for Todd Raleigh for 2 years. Matt and Tyler roomed together last year when they both played for the Fresno Grizzlies.
