CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team (23-17-1, 11-9-1 American) will host Western Carolina for a midweek matchup. The first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Marge Schott Stadium.

- Cincinnati and Western Carolina have met just once in program history, back on Feb. 24, 2013.
- The game was played in Greenville, South Carolina, at Fluor Field, the home field of the Furman Paladins.
- The Bearcats won 7-6 when Colin Hawk was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th inning.
- Senior Devin Wenzel (Blandon, Pa./Fleetwood Area) recorded two RBIs in the game as a freshman.

- On the mound, WCU has a collective ERA of 6.35, led by B.J. Nobles with a 3.72 through 29.0 innings pitched.
- Brendan Nail (5.35 ERA) and Bryan Sammons (5.57 ERA) are the only two players on the team to have started over seven games with 15 and 14 starts, respectively.
