Would hate to lose Bowman, but congrats to all 3! As far as I can tell, the SoCon had about 20 players drafted overall, with Mercer's junior, Kyle Lewis going 11th overall, along with several others in the first round. Go Cats!

Scratching my head trying to understand how no one picked Danny Bermudez.
33rd round might get you a $1000 signing bonus. Hard to believe someone with more eligibility (Bowman) could go for that. Needs to come back and play another year and, hopefully, move up in the draft.

I hope Bowman has enough sense to stay at Western. Being that low in the draft means he will be no more than a filler on a Rookie Team. Too many former WCU Players signed for practically nothing and basically went nowhere. Tyler White is the only exception to this I think.

I agree. He needs to stay for another year in Whee.
Tyler had played 4 years and had no eligibility left. He had no options when he was drafted in the 33rd round, except to go home and get a job.
So he gave it a shot... and it has worked out unbelievably for him. (He needs to get that BA up about 50-60 points, or his career will be a short one.)

Needs to come back and play another year and, hopefully, move up in the draft. Didnt expect to see $100,000 for 33rd picks. The 979th pick is only one with actual amount listed. 2015 Draft RND PICK TEAM PLAYER POS SCHOOL ST BONUS REPORTS 33 976 Diamondbacks Luis Silverio OF Eastern Florida State JC FL 33 977 Rockies Wyatt Cross C Legacy HS, Broomfield, Colo. CO Pool Scouting 33 978 Rangers C.D. Pelham LHP Spartanburg Methodist (S.C.) JC SC 33 979 Astros Kolbey Carpenter 2B Oklahoma OK $100,000 Scouting RND 33 Pick 977
Pool Amt: $100,000 *Pool Limit: $440,900 +Limit w/o Draft Pick Penalty: $1,140,390
The calculations above assume that all other unsigned picks are signed for the exact pool allotment assigned to that pick *The amount remaining in the bonus pool for this pick. +The maximum the team can spend without losing draft picks BTW Bowman is not at Wilson yet. So either taking some time off before going or maybe signing.

That must be a mis-print for the 33rd round signing... Unreal...
I have monitored the Wilson box scores this week and have not seen Bowman yet. You are probably correct. Bowman must be mulling it over... or letting an agent advise him.

Bryson Bowman is now playing for the Wilson Tobs in the Coastal Plain League. As of yesterday, the stats sheet shows that he has played in only 5 games but they were all recent. The team has played 23 games, so he was obviously late reporting. I can only assume that his negotiations with the Yankees did not yield an agreement and he'll be coming back for his SR year of eligibility. Good !
