Glad to watch the Cats beat NC State. The Starting Pitcher did a good job for his 6 innings of work. The bats were a lot better today. The three Robinson Boys had a total of 6 hits to help the cause. However, the relief pitcher was absolutely terrible. I hope Bobby has figured out that this kid can not pitch successfully at the D1 level. Bryan Sammons had to come in on 2 days rest to preserve the victory. He pitched well as usual. Bobby is going to have to find relief pitchers that can throw strikes & master all their pitches. If we had a good setup man & a good closer, the team would have victories over Clemson & ECU. I personally think that NC State would have beaten the Cats in the bottom of the 9th inning if Bobby had not put in Bryan Sammons in the game. Sure hope Bobby & his Pitching Coach figure out the relief pitching situation. By the way, does anyone know why Spencer Holcomb has not been the DH since the Marshall Games. He had a home run & numerous base hits in that series?

I'm just glad he did put Sammons in, most coaches would have saved him for a Friday night start. Beating NC State is more important to the program. Great job Moranda.
Relief pitchers in college ... as one famous D1 coach put it, "Going to the bullpen is like reaching into a bag of snakes".
