FYI.....
Mercer's Chase Burks had a career day on the mound to help Mercer defeat #8 East Carolina, 8-2, en route to a series sweep of the Pirates Sunday at Clark-LeClair Stadium.

Until someone proves otherwise, it sure looks like Mercer is the class of the SoCon in baseball this season.
They have a host of signature wins so far... like Home-Home victories against UGA and swept ECU.

Until someone proves otherwise, it sure looks like Mercer is the class of the SoCon in baseball this season. They have a host of signature wins so far... like Home-Home victories against UGA and swept ECU. Based on how Mercer's year is going and who they have beaten, it is hard to argue with your logic. They seem to be the class of the conference so far. Moranda led teams seem to improve throughout the year or at least we did last year. Pitching has been a disappointment or maybe we are meeting the expectations in the pitching department based on our realistic expectations. There are times when we look very good like when we lost by 1 point to Missouri or when we beat CCU, etc. and other times when we looked horrible like losing to GW and KSU. No consistency. I will never count The Cats out though, because I think there is talent on this team and I think we have a good coaching staff. We played a pretty tough pre-season schedule and maybe that will start to pay dividends and we will get on a roll. GO CATS!!!
