The only way we will make the tournament is win the SoCon tournament. PERIOD. That being said, it would be very foolish not to rest pitchers as much as possible between now and then and go into the SoCon tourney strong. Yes, even at the sacrifice of games right now ... it is much more important to win later than it is right now. Try to hit your way to wins now, and pitch your way to victory in the tournament.

Try to hit your way to wins now, and pitch your way to victory in the tournament. Western does not have enough depth at the Pitching Position to win the SoCon or do well in the NCAA Playoffs. Also, winning games in the Conference is extremely important because it determines the SoCon Brackets in the tourney & which teams will get a bye in the first rounds. It is obvious that Western would not want to get in the bracket with Furman based on the results in recent years. It is also important that Western not being in the same bracket with Mercer. |
