Bryan was up with the Tigers for a few weeks this season and did pretty well.
AJ Hinch used him as a "Bulk Reliever". That means "pitch as long as you can". Hinch has no hesitation about pulling the starter in the 2nd inning if he is struggling. (Snitker for Atlanta is going to let his starter go 5 innnings, even if he gives up 6-8 runs.)
Bryan Sammons pitched in 6 games; total of 27.1 innings (4 innings+ per outing). Very effective.
18 K's; only 9 BB's. 3.62 ERA. Had one bad outing which swelled his ERA.
Look for Bryan to be back in the Bigs again next year. He is 29 years old. 7 years out of college. Just about hung it up a couple of years ago but decided to continue trying to make the majors. And he succeeded.
