All-Star infielder Carlos Correa injured his thumb and was put on 10-day DL.
The Astros brought up Colin Moran on 18 July from AAA Fresno where he was batting .308. Moran was a first-round draft pick out of Chapel Hill in 2013.
Yesterday, he hit a foul ball that bounced back up and hit him in the left cheek and eye and fractured some bones. He will be out for several weeks.
To replace Moran, they reached down to Fresno and brought up Tyler (a 33rd round draft pick in 2013). He should be with the team in Philthydelphia tonight. Tyler was batting .299 and has been playing every position on the INF, including SS. He has been on the 40-man roster all year which means he is being paid the MLB minimum of $507,000 whether he is playing in Houston or Fresno or Corpus Christi (AA).
How long he will stay up is anyone's guess. Depends upon what he does and what else happens that necessitates roster moves.

Tyler hit HR's in 3 consecutive AB's yesterday and tonight.
In the 6th and 8th innings of Friday's win over Toronto. In the 3rd inning of tonight's game vs. Toronto which is still in progress.
Batting average up to .320 since he was called up to the Astros.
