Agreed. Not sure how many actual subs they have as position players. Maybe a couple of IFs, a C and a couple of OFs if that depending upon possible projected Redshirts. I have seen a couple of guys get a little time or an at bat late in some of the games. I just know that the tradition of Catamount Baseball is making this hard to watch. If we are this thin in the lineup then 1 or 2 injuries (knock on wood) are really going to be tough. But as Cameron Poe said in Con Air "It ain't my BBQ". Here's to a great week of baseball for the Cats. Hopefully a sense of urgency hits this week and it all comes together.

I’ll admit I’ve only been keeping up with baseball by what’s been shown online here and there. Am I living in some kind of nightmare that we are 1-14. Someone slap me and tell me it’s a dream. What the hell!

THE TIDE CHANGES TODAY, GENTLEMEN! I FEEL IT! Not today, bigbaseball. Double plays that should have been made, weak bats, no changes to the lineup. No motivation that you might lose your spot if you don't perform - I agree with Baseball Guy. Kids playing out of position still. It almost looks like little league daddy ball. |

That is pretty funny. I will say that the pitching was better today with the exception of the first inning. So proud of Spencer Holcomb. I saw him get banged in the head this past weekend against Ball State. Glad he is okay!! And he stroked a few today!!!
This team is better than their record and they will be okay. Coach Mo will figure it out. And no, I'm not smoking anything!

Big Baseball you must be smoking something. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. The guy can't recruit or coach. Lol! As a former Cat, someone surely sees he is a used car salesman.

As a former Cat, someone surely sees he is a used car salesman. I think that is pretty harsh. He has won the SoCon Tournament and the regular season more than once in his tenure and he has a winning record and he has done allot with less than the total number of scholarships allowed by the NCAA and a shoestring recruiting budget. He is having a bad year so why not kick him while he is down. If he comes back next year and wins the tournament or the regular season again, are you going to say he got lucky and still can't coach. Maybe we should fire the man and get somebody better to come to Western and coach. I think we are lucky to have him at Western. Also to say he can't recruit is saying that the players we have and have had under Coach Mo are bad players which is not fair to those kids and their families. |

Well there are folks on this board who have said that Speir is not the right guy and we should have won a SoCon crown by now. So yeah - if you don't perform - you should go....
