I wish we'd make this an annual tradition and build a rivalry w/Tennessee Tech. I'm in Cookeville tonight, and although the town is bigger than Cullowhee, there are a number of similarities (aside from colors being purple and gold). I went to TTU for a football game in the 70's when we would play them occasionally. And Smokies Stadium is beautiful.

Beautiful place to play baseball. I also would like to see this series continue. Great way to end the series Sunday Cats. Remember though, the hardest part about a two game winning streak is game two. I hope we build off of Sunday and continue moving players in the correct places and allowing new faces to keep internal competition happening. It was great to see some OFs with limited chances come in and contribute. Hopefully as we roll towards conference play that wasn't just a"you had your chance" opportunity. Looks like there are a few hits and runs that have been kept in the dugout. I bet there are a few more in there. Watched Coach Moranda's post game praising of his young lineup and had to investigate. It's interesting that Kent also had three Fr. position players and pitched four Fr. pitchers at us Sunday. In my opinion there is still some tweaking that needs to be done before we begin SoCon play. Way too many strikeouts, but it looks as though strikeouts don't have any bearing on PT. That being said let's hang another W Wednesday and head to The Citadel on a roll. Go Cats!! Gata Cats

I agree as a team we need to cut down on strikeouts. I also, thought pitching was good this weekend but as a pitching staff we still allow too many walks. Purus threw well but 7 walks will not be so successful next time. Luckily he dodged several bullets that game after getting 2 quick outs then walking 2 batters. I know one of those times it brought up Kent St.'s best hitter. Friday and Saturday we only walked 2 but also hit 2 batters. Sunday we walked 8 (but we won because he kept the hits way down) I just looked up the stats and as a team we have walked 105 batters and hit 32 batters. That seems very high. That has us averaging giving up just over 8 free bags a game. We will have to sow that up in order to stay on the winning track. I will say other than Sunday I feel the pitchers are doing a little better with that.

Gata Cats I agree with the comments above and do agree that the pitching thrown at us on Sunday was inferior to what we have seen. Strikeout rate is unbelievable. IT WILL BE OKAY!!!! WE ARE CLOSE!!
