Seems like he didn’t have many good things to say about Tyrie. Is there any talk in camp he could be replaced by Will Jones this year? One thing I noticed he says “Sometimes we don’t really know what’s getting ready to happen with Tyrie”. Also sounds like he was very high on Jones during the interview

Tyrie will start and be the number 1 QB in the SoCon. He said that in the context of Tyrie can make something happen on any play. Did you watch this team last year? Tyrie is a special special player.

He said Will was the back up in the interview. Tyrie is a great kid and a talent. Can’t wait for this season to get cranked up.

I know Tyrie is an amazing QB. From what I read this spring and summer it sounded like Tyrie had some off field issues and Will Jones had a great spring game so I wasn’t sure if they were going to shake things up or if Tyrie’s spot was in jeopardy

In all of these interviews, I must just be missing what several others are hearing. In all of them, I hear coach talk about Tyrie and how special he is. At the same time, I hear his enthusiasm and confidence that if we had another Furman game, or if Heaven-forbid Adams was out for an extended time, the team is comfortable that we have a more than capable back-up.
As for the Spring game, Jones played with the starting O against the 2nd team D. That was the start of several people reading more into this than it is. Even then, I would expect there was the idea of getting Jones reps and maybe lighting a fire under Adams. But in no way did I take this interview to be "down" on our starting QB. The comments about not knowing what he will do in my opinion was a compliment about Adams' being able to throw it where you think he can't, break multiple tackles on the same play where you can't understand how, etc. I've said it multiple times, but why would we not want the guy who is most likely going to set the single-season record for yards and TDs accounted for (and probably the all-time career numbers when he is done) as our starting QB?

I watched the video and I did not hear anything that would lead anybody to think that Tyrie is not the starter. It sounds like Will Jones is good and we have a good backup which is great, but let's not take the best athlete on the team (Tyrie) and bench him in favor of someone who had a good spring. Not going to happen.

And I don't want to blast anybody, but I thought I read the last scrimmage of camp was a different story than the Spring Game. Agree. Some people are reading what they want to read and trying to stir things up obviously. I am glad that fans don't pick the starters.
