Wow - I know we didn't take a ton of people to Furman from seeing the visitor's "side" on the telecast (although if you have a good fan base, the visitors should only be in a section or two and not have a "side"), but given this was Furman's first home game in like 320-something days you would think they could get more people out than that. For perspective, Paladin Stadium I think seats around 16k, so this means they were under 50% capacity.
And VMI - does that include all the Keydets that are required to go? The visitor side looked like it had a couple hundred at most (although I think 2500-3500 seems to be pretty normal for them).

I'm sure some of you will think I'm crazy, but Western needs to be in a conference of like schools, a conference made up mostly, if not all, public schools.
Schools like Wofford, Samford, and most of the other privates will not but butts in seats at their own stadium, must less travel well. We also, don't have the dollars to compete with the deep pockets of the private schools or their benefactors when it comes to big $$$$ for facilities.
A conference could look something like this:
Western Carolina Chattanooga ETSU Kennesaw State Austin Peay Eastern Kentucky Jacksonville State NC A&T Tennessee State
This is not a final list, the OVC has several possibilities, and NC has several HBCU schools that could be considered.

What is ridiculous is we have the largest attendance and the least backing from the White House. Morrison-Shetlar could give a ____. She falls right in line with all the past leaders as well.

Furman and Wofford - I know they are small schools, but that is pathetic for what is supposed to be a budding rivalry game between teams that claim to be a couple of the best in the conference. Amazed they have a smaller crowd than WCU does with the students on break. I wateched a good bit of the Citadel game, and I thought their crowd might have been even a little bigger than reported (although the away crowd is always small at their games).
