I think this would be a great addition for third downs - (ring the bell on 3d down, when our defense prevents a first down)
Vote to let the athletic department know what you think, and tell us why.

The “Stand up and shout” needs to go! Either that or adjust the volume on the speakers. All it does is startle fans and scare young children.

I think the bells are just what we need, I agree, that "stand up and shout" is not cutting it.

I just went to the FAU @ UCF game on Friday night here in Orlando. UCF has a bunch of different cuts from players doing things like telling people to "get up and get loud - we need you" and a couple of other sayings, to the whole stadium turning on the lights on their phones for the kickoff team and doing a "bounce dance", to doing a "first down UCF Knights" after every first down gained and the announcer doing the normal "and that is another...."
I never thought too much about UCF as a football school. Sure they have had some recent success, and are playing lights out right now. But the electricity of the tailgating, fan participation, student sections at both ends full 45 minutes or more before kickoff gave me a new appreciation for what they are trying to build.
The point of the story was more about it being cool if we had snippets of players on the video board telling us to get loud, or "lights out" for the kickoff, or whatever. Incorporating them in makes good use of the video board, and probably makes more people pay attention to the ask.

It’s time for stand up and shout to be retired. We need something better on third down To get everyone pumped up. I also think there needs to be something for them to come out to.

Could you imagine the confusion if we replaced it with the Dio song. Song is so old even brian Johnson of ac dc got kicked out. Wcu programming would have to take back the cassette tape.
As for a bell. No.no.no. Boone has got that covered. Be creative witty for something else.

I agree something better than Stand up and shout please. It doesn't startle me but its just annoying. But I also would prefer something better than a bell. I am not sure at the moment what we could do, but we could do something that relates to a Catamount or something with western North Carolina. Maybe a horn or something. I like what ECU has done this year, since I got to see the ECU butt kicking of UNC this year. They now use a foghorn (but it relates to ships so it makes Pirate sense). I also agree we need to come up with an intro, although WCU could use what ECU does (since both schools are purple/gold) but I would prefer something original. ECU uses the Jimmy Hendrix "Purple Haze intro." We do not need to copy ECU but we could find our own unique theme for the Cats to run/walk out too.

How about the Cat Growl that we used back in Brad Hoover's days? Or a siren/air raid signal?
