My son is a Wofford grad and on the Terrier Club board of directors so I have to hear all about the Lap Dogs. I've watched the end of the last two games (Furman and Samford) and amazed at how they pulled out those games. When Magee is off or covered, Murphy or Hoover step up. When you have four or five shooters like they have and play defense like they do, you are going to win those close games. Wofford is model program for current SoCon basketball....a couple decent inside players and a bunch of perimeter players that can shoot and defend. Sorta like the successful SoCon teams of the 80s and 90s.

Two things - why does Wofford always win the close games (football included)? And that's an interesting date for the Clemson game (early November in conference season).

Allot more money and more prestige. He will not have 20 years to build a team though. VT will expect winning NCAA tournament teams within 2 or 3 years. Good luck to him.

5-year deal. Starts at $2M base per year and rises to $2.75M base per year over the life of the contract, not bad money for a guy that was making $177,000 per year at Wofford.

Early names at Wofford include current Terriers associate head coach Jay McAuley and Minnesota asst. coach Ed Conroy (former head coach at Tulane and The Citadel).
