Jim - I don’t have a beef with coach Mo at all. From the end of last season I have said multiple times he deserves the benefit of the doubt to prove that last year was a fluke. I was simply pointing out that for quite a few seasons finishing around .500 is pretty normal and we are once again at .500. Those numbers were more to show we aren’t way off from what in the past have been considered ok seasons. And I do not think we are in for a finish anything like we had last season.
I have seen posters swing wildly in their assessments from game to game, and when schools play 55-60 games I would personally wait on judging Mo at the end - 28-28 but a conference tourney championship a couple of years ago are what I’d bet many felt was a great year. Still no reason to think the way this team hits that we won’t be around in most games.

I heard Hook go NUTS on the "foul/fair" call and although I was only listening and not watching, I can't imagine an ump doing something like that. Cost us several runs and (yes - I'm making excuses here) really got into the heads of our guys. Unbelievable.

Cost us several runs and (yes - I'm making excuses here) really got into the heads of our guys. Unbelievable. I was there sitting with a view straight down first base line and it was the worst call I’ve ever seen. He raised his hands for dead ball foul and then tried to say fair ball after raising hands. Even if it was fair (it wasn’t even close) when he raised his hands the play stopped and that should’ve stood but he totally blew the call. I have noticed that most socon officials are high school umpires mainly and struggle with speed of a college game. In the socon you tend to even have a high school strike zone. Ball or 2 off the plate is called. It’s gross
