Gray was in the Ramsey office this morning and walked office to office and said thank you. From fellow coaches to entry level staff. I believe he is a good guy and I wish we had him for at least one more year. I also believe that he has been in negotiations for at least a couple of weeks with CCU. How could that not distract from game prep? And, what if we had moved forward and won the tournament? There’s at least two more weeks before he would be done here. Try 5-6 months

Has there been an official announcement from WCU that he's leaving?

Has there been an official announcement from WCU that he's leaving? No announcement from WCU but a press release from CCU and JG has changed his twitter to CCU

If we have a good coach it’s just a matter of time before they leave Cullowhee for more money. If we have good players, it’s a matter of time before they leave for a bigger school. This will continue until WCU has the money and resources to keep them. I doubt that ever happens. It hurts me that we can’t sustain a winning culture at this school. This cycle will continue to repeat. A few mediocre rebuild years, a good year, repeat.

We would need to move up to an FBS conference in today's college world or have an NIL worth a damn. Neither of which are ever going to happen. If you have a good team you better win that same year because the coach and players are going to be gone the following year

Something no one is talking about and is a consideration for every coach with every sport at WCU, how does their family like Cullowhee? Sure, we could possibly come up with a contract to match an offer by many schools but does Coach Gray's wife like it here? Those in the know say she does not like Cullowhee. I asked the question in my post but I already knew the answer, an answer that Coach Gray had given me directly more than a year before, "She's a city girl."
