As I said as I was leaving Whitmire last Saturday-we will not win another game this season My prediction for today was 47-34 Furman but I think it will be worse than that Wofford and Citadel will run for 400 yards on this defense

Yep, not even October yet and we’re reduced to “hoping” to beat ETSU now.

i am so mad and angry at the team this year as well as the whole coaching staff. Week after week you hear the coaches talk that we will get better, we will practice harder but all i see is a crappy defense that is not getting any better and today look even worse than they have been in the past. This season is gone. There is no way this team will be in the top three of the Socon and no way in hell they are making the playoffs. The head coach needs to do some self reflection because this team is not good at all and i don't feel that we should be ok with well in the past 4 years we have won 7 games. Who cares! This is about now and the team looks like trash. 31-10 in the first half! 31 points should be high for a whole game and we are not even in the 2nd half. That blocked punt makes me wonder if the team has already given up this game.

Offense predictable. O-line on heels. Indecision among staff. Careless with ball.

So WCU has 273 yards in the first half and should have had 17 points. With the fumble, we end up leading in yardage but behind by 21 points at the half. We definitely can't afford to not score TDs, as I dont' see Furman not scoring on most possessions and probably putting up 48 or more points.

I see now why we haven't run the ball as everyone has said we should. Our offensive line is getting killed. I'm not so sure we even took our OL to Furman. If we did can you say overrated.

I think part of that is the play calling. We looked great to start with, going fast, short/quick passes, TE dump pass, etc. When we are out of rhythm with slow-developing pass plays or try to just hand the ball right up the middle we do poorly. But again - we had 273 yards of offense. Certainly we needed to score at the end, but no way would I point the finger at our offense.
I said this last week. Run the ball with purpose outside the tackles to 1) gain some yards and 2) maybe keep our D off the field. Now we are in a pass-first situation, so that can lead to even faster 3-and-outs, Furman just pinning their ears back and getting a pass rush and penetration, etc. I fully expect it to be 38-10 after this first drive, so the offense is going to need to be phenomenal to keep this from getting out of hand being a "body bag" game.

Offense predictable. O-line on heels. Indecision among staff. Careless with ball. Boy, I sure am glad that other people on this board are making these negative comments. I’m just going to sit back & watch some of you post reality comments & not try to honey coat this team or the Coaching Staff.

So for the fourth straight week I will say the same thing as I have been saying. Our defense is embarrassingly terrible Not much you can do but try to improve. Unfortunately the defense is bad enough where you play higher competition and it doesn't look like it has improved at all.
