I agree with everyone about the coaching talent or the lack there of. I believe these coaches are doing the best they can which leads me to believe they do not have the knowledge or talent to be Div 1 coaches. I'm also not convinced that we have that much talent as everyone thinks we do on the field. If there is that much talent then why are we out manned on the field where coaching is not involved. We have talent but not in the multitudes that most people think in my opinion. Hampton, I agree with you for most of what you said. However, I do think we have more talent on the offensive side of the ball than any team in the SoCon. The only real negative on the offensive side is the OC. His play calling for the most part is atrocious. The talent has been able to score a lot of points despite him. I also think we have SOME talent on defense. When you have four down lineman line up with wide splits between them & play your two inside linebackers sitting up about 3 to 4 yards from the line of scrimmage, the triple option team players begin foaming at the mouth when they see the possibility of having great angle blocking. Shoot, I would try to use a 4/4 defense with single coverage on their two wide receivers. At least The Citadel would have been confused about their blocking assignments.

Looking at the film it was not the diving kid who made the block or hit Ian. It was a guy who shot straight up the middle and didn't get touched. The op time on the punt was 1.8! Punts that fast should never be blocked. bc, I do not know how your son could have gotten the kick off any quicker. From sitting in the stands on the west side, I totally agree with you because that is what I saw as well. He could not have gotten it off quicker, and neither could any other punter in the country college or pro. To put it in perspective, I am watching the Carolina/TB game. Polardy's last punt had a 1.85 OP time (snap to kick), hit get off time, (hand to toe) was 1.16. The second blocked punt was had an OP time of 1.8. Ian and Charles (the snapper) are as fast as any snapper/punter unit in college. The first blocked punt had a high snap that Ian had to jump for, but would have been blocked anyway because the guy who blocked it ran free. Ian's get off time (hand to toe) on the first block with the high snap was 1.2. In the second it was 1.1.

BC notice that none of the Pro games use the formation we use. Wonder why? Is Ian ok?

All I know is that Ian can literally kick the heck out of a Football & he can kick a beautiful spiral with excellent hang time, he can place a kick inside the five yard line & he can kick an end over end kick which is hard to handle. His greatest attribute is his ability to create great field position for the Catamounts. For the ST Coach not to protect this young man is a travesty.

BC notice that none of the Pro games use the formation we use. Wonder why? Is Ian ok? Ian is fine. If you notice in the second block the guy who blocked it dove and his face mask hit Ian in the inside of his thigh. He has a facemask shaped bruise there. I cannot understand the thought process, other than we are sacrificing protection for coverage because the coaches don't trust our guys getting down field to cover.

BC notice that none of the Pro games use the formation we use. Wonder why? Is Ian ok? I have heard this is the punt formation that App Stste uses! I can’t confirm that but if so that explains a lot! It is as if our Coaches idolize App State and what they have done ! Guess what WCU isn’t App State or even little App State and as far as I’m concerned they need to accept the facts!
