The first time I saw our punt formation, I thought it was the worst I had ever seen..Obviously, the CID special teams saw it the same as me. And Wow! After they blocked the first one, we watch them overload the left side only to block again for a TD. Time for a change?

Their head coach said in his weekly conference that they were coming to block. They came to block last year. Everyone who has watched these teams play for the past 2 years knew they were going all out to block every time. The players have to play in the formation they are told, so they can't be blamed. Still, the punter was lucky to survive that game.

I've gone back and looked at the plays. It's a miracle that 3 weren't blocked. Citadel beat our blocking scheme every time. They studied us and knew exactly how to get through untouched. Even the first block wasn't due to the high snap. I am seriously concerned for the punter's safety.

I am seriously concerned for the punter's safety. As you should be. The person responsible for WCU's punt protection should be out of a job, effective tonight. A team with an All-Ameican punter, that can't protect that punter, is in awful shape. You'd think the blocking scheme would have changed after the 1st block.

Jerry, don’t you remember The Citadel did the exact same thing in Charleston last year. That my friend is an example of very poor Coaching & lack of film study by the ST Coach. Needs to be fired. Coach Speir does not understand that these Assistants are running around with his paycheck in their mouths. The Baseball Team was terrible this past Spring & the Head Baseball Coach fired all of his Assistants. At least he has some backbone.

Both seniors on punt pro have discussed with Special Teams coach the issues of the formation, one got taken off it for 2 games lol. I hope Ian is ok. My kid tossed a kid into him that jumped over the shield, by accident.

Football coach egos have always been a problem. The smart, wise, and winning ones listen to their players
