It will be interesting to see how many of those who signed with Speir, Holt, Banks and Co. will actually show up in Cullowhee this Summer. I'm sure the new coaches are making contact with them and sharing THEIR vision. Will be interesting to see how things work out this first year. My expectation for this year's incoming class is low, due to the very short time from hiring to start of practice. This staff's first recruiting class next year will be important. I have noticed that most all of the kids we signed in February have posted or retweeted quotes and tweets from the new staff on their social media Twitter accounts and Facebook. I think that is a good sign and that as you said, the new staff has reached out and convinced most of the guys signed to stay.

This kid is a transfer from Alabama. He was a freshman for the tide in 2020 and did not play. I am pretty sure he was probably a walk-on for the Tide but he is probably a good get for us.

De committed from Tusculum. We’re raiding their cupboard. They might come over the mountain and whoop our ass again

I hope all the kids we are getting from D2 can play at the FCS level. I know the coaches are trying to get players that fit their system. I think D2 is allowed 25 scholarships so maybe most of these guys can play FCS but there is a reason that no FCS team offered them. Size, speed, grades? I hope these coaches understand the kind of talent they need to be successful in the SoCon. With all that said, Bob Waters was famous for recruiting very good undersized receivers that others did not recruit and many of those guys were all conference. Not comparing these coaches to Bob Waters. They have a lot to prove on the field.

Valid concern. "Mid-major" coaches have to recruit for potential, not just raw talent, which is pretty difficult. Waters was great at it, but it was such a different time.
