if i did not know it had been changed out I would not be able to tell. They should have done something different with the design

if i did not know it had been changed out I would not be able to tell. They should have done something different with the design I mean they made the letters permanent in the endzone, purple edging around the field is new, a purple and gold player box, and new turf in the random square below the picture. Other than the grass being purple or some other design I'm not sure what else you would expect for a football field.

If you click on the pic, it will enlarge, gives a great view of the details of the field, as well as the work being done on the Ramsey Center, and a look at the construction of the parking deck in the baseball field parking lot.

It’s definitely a lot more bold and stands out. I still think we could’ve gotten very creative in the end zones though.

Possibly, but they screwed up the endzones originally with the old turf and had to resort with just painting the letters on instead. I think they are just happy they got it correct this time.

The Field really does look worlds better! Now, let's hope it doesn't shine badly on TV like the old turf did. That stuff just didn't like the combination of light angles and video.
One thing I wish they had done when the west stands were built was to enclose the underside with a false wall using the panels with real brick faces. It would have dressed up the stands and stadium greatly!

It would have dressed up the stands and stadium greatly! You are right, it would have looked much better enclosed. I guess there were two factors that led them not to do it (just my guesses) #1 - funds $$$ (I'm sure it saved lots of dollars by leaving it open #2 - easy removable of the metal stands, if permanent seating is to be added later

The band uses the open space under the stands.
I suggested lettering "Bob Waters Field" into/on the turf but nope.
