Look like based on this, e should up our fees by about $200 and we would still be behind other schools. The students benefit from strong athletics so they should pay more.

Say what you will, but Asheville puts out some pretty good athletic programs on just $8 million per year. Always excellent men & women's basketball, very improved baseball, and usually beat WCU in most of the olympic sports. Maybe Cone is a much better AD than I ever thought she was...

I know that Furman's is probably up there around this figure, but with at $24 million athletic budget, ETSU should be kicking everyone's butt in the SoCon, except maybe Furman.
That's as big a mystery as the low attendance figures in football for Chattanooga, with one the larger population centers in the SoCon.

UNCA does not have football and I am not sure they have all the other sports that we have besides football. I wonder what UNCG is spending all their budget on. Lately UNCA has had our number but in the long run UNCA will not be able to consistently beat us. Just my opinion.

Also, as a public University, we should be up there with ETSU and spending $25 to$30 million per year.

I think most people in Eastern Tennessee are UT Knoxville fans. They draw ok in basketball, but not in Football. UT Knoxville has lots of bandwagon fans from Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina. Many folks who don’t go to college pick a big school to pull for because that’s what they have heard of and they don’t know any better. It’s expensive to be an SEC or ACC fan anymore especially if you go to games and that is just to sit in the nose bleed section.
