Tyler has played 2 games with Fresno. He joined the Grizzlies in El Paso on Wednesday night but too late for the game. Played in Thursday and Friday nights games. Went 2 for 4 each game (all singles). In Thursday night's game, Fresno had a 5-2 lead with El Paso coming to bat in the bottom of the 9th. Fresno put in their (supposed) Closer. He never got anyone out and El Paso scored 4 runs for a walk-off 6-5 victory.
Friday's game was similar. Fresno came to bat in the top of the 9th with a 5-5 tie. Someone drove in one run and then Tyler singled with runners on 2nd and 3rd. Two RBI's for T-White and then Fresno scored one more run. 9-5 lead going into the bottom of the 9th. Fresno brought in (another supposed) Closer. Walk. Got an out. Walk. Got an out. Walk. Tying run at the plate. Got an out to end the game.
Fresno's pitching looks about as undependable as Catamount pitching was many times this past season. But Fresno took 3 of 4 games at El Paso and are leading their division of the Pacific Coast League. The Astros farm system is pretty well stocked with talent at all levels. Houston Astros have made an awesome turnaround at the Major League level this year, but they have been building for about 4-5 years.
Tyler will be playing his first home game in Fresno tonight vs. Tacoma. Grizzlies broadcaster was talking about a conversation he had with Tyler during the day yesterday. "I told Tyler, 'You don't have to say SIR to me'. But that's the way most folks are raised in the South. He sure has a Southern drawl. He's a fine young man."
Tyler is 4 for 8 batting at AAA level. Go Tyler!

Tyler went 3 for 5 as DH on Saturday night in his first game played in Fresno. 2 singles and a two-bagger. Tacoma jumped out with 3 runs on the top of the first inning but got no more. Fresno won 10-3. Yesterday was the anniversary of Lou Gehrig's farewell speech in 1939. They featured a couple of ALS victims on the broadcast last night. With the time clock they are using in pro ball now, I noticed that T-White can't do as much "landscaping" of the batters box as he used to. There were times he was almost a human rain delay. (^_^)

Good post, 32. Your chart goes back to AA Corpus Christi also.
As of last night, Tyler has played in 5 games since being promoted to AAA Fresno Grizzlies in the Astros farm system. Fresno is 3-2 in those games and Tyler has either played 1B or DH.
He is batting .550 (11 hits in 20 AB's) with 5 RBI's and 3 runs scored with Fresno. 7 singles and 4 doubles.
Fresno is running away with their division (7 game lead) in the Pacific Coast League and have the 3rd best record in the 16-team league (including the other 3 divisions).
The only down-side of his offensive production is that he has been tagged out 3 times between 3B and Home. Tyler's lack of speed has always been a negative factor, even at the college level. But his hard work, determination and marvelous hand-eye coordination with a bat has carried him a long way. I know all Catamount fans join me in wishing Tyler continued success...

As of last night, Tyler has played in 9 games with the Fresno Grizzlies... 9 nights in a row... in 3 different cities. He is probably getting a little road-weary. But after Saturday and Sunday games in Sacramento, the Pacific Coast League (AAA) teams will have 3 days off as their All-Stars will play against the International League (AAA) All-Stars with the game being played in Omaha on Wed. July 15.
Tyler's bat has cooled off a little the last two nights with only 3 hits in 9 AB's total. Had one game this week with 0-4 but he still got 2 RBI's on productive ground balls to the right side of the IF. This has caused his average to slip to .432. One of the 3 hits was a 2-run HR and his RBI total for the 9 games at AAA is 10 Ribbies.
Even when he has not gotten a hit, he has made some "productive outs" On 3 occasions, he has come up with No Outs and a runner on 2B. In all 3 instances, he grounded to the right side of the IF and allowed the runner to go to 3B where the next batter brought him home with a Sac Fly or a base hit.
Tyler has been playing 1B about half the time and DH'ing the rest. One night, he made 3 excellent catches of pop-ups in foul territory outside 1B and the RF line Had to scramble back and make twisting, over-the-shoulder plays every time. No E's yet on any play.
Fresno still leads their division; with a 7 game lead over Tacoma. The Astos are shuffling a lot of players between the majors and AAA. For example, LHP Brett Oberholtzer started a game for Fresno on Saturday July 4 and won 10-3 with 6 very effective innings. The Astros called him up over the weekend and he started against Cleveland on Thursday July 9, and was the losing pitcher even though he pitched as well as the Saturday start. (Gave up 3 runs each time). But Cleveland won 3-1. Then they sent Oberholtzer back to Fresno on the 10th as they activated a pitcher from the 15-day DL.
You can follow Tyler's progress (1) on the Fresno Grizzlies website, (2) by listening to the games on KYNO Radio Fresno on the station's website or (3) by subscribing to the MiLB.tv service on the Internet (you can actually watch any Minor League game being played anywhere in the country). You can follow Jeremy Null with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans on the MiLB.tv service also.
Jeremy Null pitched for Myrtle Beach (Cubs farm team) vs. Winston-Salem on Monday July 6 and got no decision despite a good performance by him. He is scheduled to pitch Sunday vs. the Carolina Mudcats (Braves farm team).

Tyler was called up from AA Corpus Christi at the first of July to AAA Fresno. So far (thru 7/31), he has played 23 games with Fresno; about 2/3 of them at 1B and about 1/3 as DH. His batting average has just dipped under .400 during the last week. T-White has 21 RBI's in 23 games with 3 HR's and a .385 BA. He has only had 3 ganes without a hit and there have been 13 (of the 23) games in which he had multiple hits.

Tyler had a Field Day last night vs. the New Orleans Zephyrs (Marlins farm team). It was his 37th game played since being called up to AAA.
He was 4-6 with 6 RBI's and 2 runs scored. He hit a blast in the 1st inning that cleared the left field bleachers and out into the parking lot.
At one point, the score was Tyler White 5, New Orleans 2. The pitcher for N.O. (Travis Blackley, an Aussie by birth) had been in and out of the major leagues for the past 10-11 years with 6 different teams. Also played in the Japan and Korean leagues for one year each. His MLB overall record is 9-9. Tyler unloaded on a 32 year old veteran of many games.
Tyler also hit an RBI ground rule double in the 8th inning that bounced over the RCF fence. Just missed another HR. His batting average for 37 games at AAA stands @ .387 with 37 RBI's (one per game avg) and 5 HR's.
I am fully expecting that Tyler will be one of 7 farm hands chosen by the Astros to play in the Arizona Fall League. A good showing there will make him more valuable to the Houston organization... probably for a future trade.

Tyler is an absolute RBI machine this week.
Fresno started a series vs. the Round Rock Express (Rangers farm team) tonight. Tyler singled with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the First Inning.... 2 RBI's. Third Inning, he sent the CF back to the warning track with a long fly ball. Fifth Inning - exact same situation as First Inning.... same result.... another clean single and 2 more RBI's. Final AB, Tyler got a walk. 2-3 with 4 RBI's for the night.
Fresno won 7-0. Winning pitcher was Asher Wojciechowski who was an All-SoCon pitcher at The Citadel sometime around 2008-2009. He had a cup of coffee in Houston earlier this year.
14 RBI's for Tyler in last 3 games. BA up to .401. Not enough AB's to qualify for batting or RBI lead in the Pacific Coast League.

Thursday night Fresno won their 10th game in a row; 18 out of last 19. Tyler was 2 for 3 (single and double) with each hit driving in one run each. He scored 2 and his 2 RBI's brings the total to 16 in the last 4 games. BA up to .406. Fresno announcer Doug Greenwald said, "Tyler is amazing!" in an email response to me this morning. If they beat Round Rock again tonight, 11 in a row will be a new Fresno franchise record.
BTW, if you needed any indication of the fantastic job the Houston Astros have done turning around a pitiful franchise in the past 2-3 years, consider that the Astros lead their division (AL West) as well as most of their farm teams. Fresno has the best record of any AAA team, Corpus Christi has the best record of any AA team and the Quad Cities River Bandits (don't you just love that name?) has the best record of any Class A team. (Braves, take a lesson...)
Tyler has some tough competition to make it to the Bigs...

Hopefully there is someone they will drop off the 40 man roster so he can get called up. Read somewhere that will probably keep them from calling him up this year. All the crap about who has options and who it would make eligible for rule 5 draft is confusing
