Bottom line... He and I have seen the Catamounts choke in the SoCon tournament so many times, we're sick of it...
#1 or #2 seeding means nothing to WCU baseball now-a-days... except greater let-down for those who were expecting a competitive performance.
The greatest run I've ever seen a Catamount team put together was the 3 consecutive shutouts in the 2003 tournament. And then we had to hold on for dear life to win the tournament in games 4 & 5.
The greatest single game performance (in my opinion) was the 2011 opening game when we were seeded #8 (only got into the tournament on the last weekend of regular season by taking a series from App State). We knocked off #1 seed Elon in 20 innings and ruined the tournament for them.
I'll be watching tomorrow... but from home...
Going to take the money I would have spent on motels, food and tickets in Greenville and send it to Coach Speir to Feed the Cats this summer. Better investment than enduring another "2 and through".
