Glad The Cats made me out wrong today...
We showed a lot of grit and determination. Great to see Brett Pope back. Sorry to hear about Andrew Bullock's injuries. Knew he had gotten beaned, but knew nothing about any broken cheek bones.
The Wofford pitcher started to charge home plate after that last call. The ball was just a hair inside, in my opinion. But the ump had called the same pitch a strike on multiple occasions during the game. He rung up Caleb Robinson on the same pitch earlier in the game.
Colton Davis threw 63 pitches. He might be able to come back for a few more pitches on Saturday, if we are still playing then.

Congrats to the Cats on getting that monkey off their back (no wins in Greenville & and no wins the last 6 tournament games). We beat CofC in Greenville I think the first year tourney was in Greenville in 2009 and bear Samford here in 2013

It is not correct to say that we had not won any games in Greenville.
As 32 pointed out, we won a game in 2009 at Fluor Field before dropping the next two. In 2013, we beat Samford in the first round and then were eliminated 2 in a row. 2014 and 2015 were both 2 and through.
So it is correct to say that we had lost 6 tournament games in a row.
Yesterday was a W, but it was nothing to be proud of. Ole Blue behind the plate had been throwing up his right arm on the same pitch location that he let go as Ball Four for J D. If he had, we would have had an opportunity to burn some more innings with our thin pitching. And continue in our quest for 7 in a row...

Cats lose to Mercer, but come back in the final game of the night to beat Samford again. The Cats head to the Championship.
