We got our butts kicked today... pretty simple. When they made contact, the ball found a hole. When we made contact, it was most often right at someone.
Not sure that our guys had Coastal Carolina on their brains today instead of St. Johns of NY.
The NY boys may not be able to get in a lot of pre-season practices, but they sure have spent some time in the batting cage.

The NY boys may not be able to get in a lot of pre-season practices, but they sure have spent some time in the batting cage. Or we just need to pitch better. Someone needs to teach our pitchers how throw a circle change. The pitchers were getting their pitches up in the strike zone & St Johns was taking advantage of those mistakes. It was obvious that the Plate Umpire was consistently calling the knee high strike & our pitchers failed to take advantage of this fact. The team made 4 costly errors & one player made 2 of those 4 errors. St Johns teed off on the fast ball & pitchers did not move the ball around or change speeds effectively. Results of this----a 14 to 3 pasting by St Johns.

I'm listening to our game with Coastal right now. Like what I'm hearing so far. GO CATS!!! We got great pitching today from our starter & our relief pitcher. Couple that with good hitting at key times during the game + playing error free defense = a great win. Today's effort was 1000% better than the Friday performance. All this was done in spite of several questionable calls by the umpires. Our starting pitcher kept their hitters guessing all game with changing speeds & throwing off speed breaking balls. Made his fast ball more effective. The Pitchers did a great job keeping runners off the bases via the walk. Overall a well Coached Game by Bobby Moranda & his Staff.
