I am always happily surprised with the attendance at WCU games. Given we won the opener, but it was a bit of a disappointing showing, anybody have thoughts on what kind of crowd the Cats will have this weekend? Any chance we are going to approach the 12k in game #1? It is early, but the forecast right now looks like a very nice day in Cullowhee on Saturday. And at 2-0 for the first time in over a decade I hope people are optimistically excited.
Longer-term, I have no idea about the school calendar, so don't know when Fall break will show up and impact at least 1 crowd. But it would be nice to lead the conference in attendance again.

i would venture to say crowd size should be great. it is family weekend at WCU, so we should expect 12-13K in my opinion

For the first home game against Newberry, the official attendance was listed as 12,111.
As you know, Whitmire's official seating capacity is 13,742, will we reach that number? So, what do you think the number of fans attending will be for the VMI game?
vote and tell us what you think.....

Fall break is Oct 8-12. We are at Samford on Oct 6 and we play UTC at home on Oct 13.

I voted for over 9k...kinda like bidding $1 on the price is right. I think we'll have over 11k, but I always hope for a capacity crowd.

I voted 11k - a slight drop from the opener where we had the white-out, fireworks, etc. And for me, it seems like openers and late evening/night games get bigger crowds (but I did not look anything up on those figures). Like everybody - I hope I am wrong and it is standing room only at every home game we play.

I would expect a similar crowd to the Newberry game, family weekend seems to always draw well and the Cats haven't let us down YET this season. I wised up and purchased my tickets online this morning, the ticket line prior the Newberry game was a complete debacle. It was lined up into the road on the home side at opening kickoff.

I always buy mine online before I go. I hate lines, and we always seem to have long ones for tickets.

Wow - that seating chart looks good. If the students show up in-force this will be a big crowd. The West side looks pretty full, but of course many of those are the season ticket holders and Cat Club members (so seats sold but not necessarily somebody in them). But how about section E (1 single seat available) and EE (only 18 seats available)?!?!
The West side typical is pretty full anyway, so if this is an indication I think a similar crowd to the opener should certainly be in store.
