Scary when people in power aren't afraid of losing their position.
The current state of Catamount athletics is why I send my donation dollars to a school I never attended. At least the on the field product is competitive and entertaining. oh well...
I hope the powers in the white building and the AD as well as the Catamount Club are listening. People are starting to vote with their feet and taking their pocketbooks with them. As alum said, "scary when people in power aren't afraid of losing their position". I say, it's a damn shame and disgrace to all those that give and have given their hard earned money to the Catamount Club, when those coaches and AD have no fear of losing their jobs for not performing. Why pay the football head coach 200k if you just want a good man in the leadership, hire a local minister. Pay someone to WIN and turn out players that graduate. Same goes for basketball and baseball. On the minor sport coaches have to worry about keeping their job at Western Carolina.

Before the Samford series, our team ERA was 6.69, ranked 263 of 297 DI teams. After last night, we are up to 6.90 on the SoCon stats board.

New AD is needed! All our athletics stink! The best teams in the SoCon are all gone and we still can’t win!

Strange that we started the season pretty well, and have gone into a 2-13 slide in the last 3 weeks.

Strange that we started the season pretty well, and have gone into a 2-13 slide in the last 3 weeks. Actually 2-12 in last 3 weeks your counting the Sunday loss at Mercer I think. That was last weekend played decent. With series loss’s at home to Furman and VMI two teams that are not good and mix in loss to UNCA at home and App St on road. Getting swept at Tech and at Samford is not huge surprise but the others are bad real bad especially all but App St at home. IP: 402 H: 454 BB: 256 HBP: 58 768 base runners in 402 IP not including reaching by error. Throw in 106 WP for year also. I don’t remember the final number but few years ago we destroyed the all time national record for WPs in a season. Take look at opponents IP: 406.2 H: 481 BB: 142 HBP: 78 701 base runners in 406.2 innings. Opponents have 65 WP that’s 41 less. Both are bad Was curious to see Samfords numbers IP: 459.2 H: 430 BB: 167 HBP: 45 642 in 459.2 ETSU IP: 428.1 H: 398 BB: 147 HBP: 35 580 In 428.1 *stats from SOCON website

We should see a drastic improvement the next couple years. From what im told we are getting some deserved and very much needed resources that we need to compete. Much different than what we have had in the past.

Much different than what we have had in the past. This is in no way meant as a put down to 32, but that is just another "wait until next year", which we have heard in football for over 40 years. The only problem is that next year and winning never seem to happen.

Much different than what we have had in the past. The resources we are getting is because of the NC Promise law and not because of anything that Randy, the BOT or the Administration did. The folks in charge are not ponying up any more cash. In fact, they are cutting funding to athletics when other funds come available so that they can spend the money on the Arts and the Band and their other pet projects. Don't be fooled by the hype.

Flcatamount, I spoke with athletic staffer and was told next year's scholarship budget is EXACTLY the same as Athletics spent two years ago. Only difference is about 33% more scholarships are available now. He told me the increases in student fees, and specifically increases in donations, have led to larger operating budgets for all teams. May be smoke, but should be easy enough to verify.
