With Aaron Dickens (3 star) and Bennett Judy committed to our December class, we will have additional strength at QB.

Does anyone have any ideas about Brody Palhegyi? Does he plan to stay or join the other QBs? He is the only QB left on the roster that has not declared anything. I believe we’ll enter the recruiting season with only two QBs on the Roster. Jim you do realize we have a 3 star QB committed and more being recruited! Again I think the coaches know what' s best for this team. Cornett was the only QB that I wish had stayed, the rest are bench warmers.

Not surprised. Toler and Linke went to HS together and Toler de-committed from ECU to come to Western to be with Linke. This is a big loss. He did not get the playing time but he was one of our most talented receivers. he wasn't going to get any playing time next year with what we have coming back!

I really don't think we saw a movie play under Speir as he had no script! I really think the Bells have a script and we will see next year more of it play out! Every year that Coach Speir was the Head Coach he would bring in Freshmen & not play them. The next year most of them would be gone. He would then say we have a young team. His plan was simple, do not play Freshmen. I will give Coach Bell credit because he will play Freshman. Speir's philosophy was a bit 'old school' in that he wanted freshman to sit and learn, redshirt then have 4 years to play after that with a higher knowledge level. I think one of his big problems with that philosophy was that it relies on high quality coaching and I don't think he had the depth or quality in his assistant coaches. Look at how many of his asst coaches had very, very limited experience.

He is the only QB left on the roster that has not declared anything. I believe we’ll enter the recruiting season with only two QBs on the Roster. We all knew this was coming. The only freshman QB that got a chance to prove what he could do in a game was Gonzalez. They all got snaps against Presbyterian but that was it. It would have been nice if some of the others would have gotten a chance to show what they could do in a real game. Not questioning the Bell’s decision but if these guys thought they had a chance to compete for the position, they would have stayed. You don’t leave if you think you will be given a chance. That’s common sense. Gonzalez is from Florida, played at the HS where Coach Bell was head coach years ago and his daddy is Billy Gonzalez, who was the WR coach at UF for years and he and coach Bell know each other well. Also Billy is a great well known recruiter in Florida. I am not saying the kid can’t play or he does not deserve the great chance that he was given. I thought he did a good job. I am saying that it would have been nice to see what some of the other QBs could have done in a game. Especially in games that were not close like Mercer or Citadel. We will never know now. Agree. I don't think any of the QBs are bench warmers (as previously stated in a post) as they all demonstrated they can play. They just did not fit with the system and/or staff. Cornett and Lincke both had a full-ride at WCU but then both had full ride FBS offers out of HS & both had P5 PWOs (Louisville & Wake) and they came to WCU thinking they would play. For whatever reason they were both put on the scout team after the spring despite great stats so perhaps not a fit with the system or coaches or some other reason. Kerwin Bell knows what he wants and it looks like he has some promising young QB commits. However, he hasn't even tapped the portal yet. The FCS portal just opened and the FBS opens on Dec 6. I am sure he will be tapping that for some QBs too and also many different positions. Next years team should be very very good.

Had a few great catches and a great TD against Georgia Tech. Maybe he goes back to ECU? Wherever, wish him the best.

He was never given a chance by Cade Bell. I have no clue why he was treated like trash by the Bells. His attributes have been well said by Flacat & I agree with him. If I was one of the QBs not playing, I would leave the Catamounts in a New York minute. I also would look very carefully at signing a scholarship to play for the Catamounts if I was a QB. It seems the Bells load up with Wide Receivers & QBs when they should be building depth on the Defensive side of the ball. Western will never win the SoCon if they do not put a sound defense on the field. This season was a perfect example of this. Ranked high in offensive production in the SoCon with one of the weakest defenses in the SoCon. You don’t have to be a Football Expert to figure this out. You do realize that defense won the game Saturday. Damn this is only their second year. The defense made improvements, I think Kerwin is a better judge of QB's than you are. Some of y'all just are not happy unless you are complaining. And we have a 3 star QB currently committed. Again I'll take Coach Bell's opinion on QB's. Good Lord! Where did WCU finish defensively in the SoCon Stats?
