Bryson is a walk on but if he wants to play QB in college he needs to transfer. I would think we will loose most of the QBs on the roster. Carlos and Cole are the QBs of the future and no other QB is going to get a chance. Cole and Carlos get all the snaps with the first string and all the snaps in the games so others will not have a chance to beat them out in the spring because of the practice and game experience that Carlos and Cole got this year. If I were a Freshman or Sophomore QB on Westerns football team, I would transfer so that I could get a chance to play QB in college. I am not saying anything about Carlos or Cole’ abilities as compared to the other QBs but Cade has made his choices and the others will be on the practice squad or ride the pine for the next 3 to 4 years. It is obviously a foregone conclusion. The Bells are high on Carlos and Cole and not so much on any of the other QBs and we all agree that the coaches have made the right decision on the starter and the backup. I don’t want anyone to transfer but if they want to play, I would advise it. No other QBs are ever discussed when you hear Coach talk. And no there will not be a QB competition amount several QBs in the spring. That is discussed a lot, but it is always a foregone conclusion and is just Coach speak.

There Goes Cornett as we all Expected. Do we see Carlos Davis on this list next? Carlos will be the starter next year. I hate we lost Cornett. He was the leader in the fall and got hurt for 8 days and was passed by Gonzalez. I thought on paper, he was the most talented and had the best pedigree, size and arm. You can’t never tell. He is transferring because he knows he will not be given a chance to compete for the job. |

With the portal, coaches can’t hold people back. I would have loved to have seen Cornett get a real chance.

There Goes Cornett as we all Expected. Do we see Carlos Davis on this list next? He was never given a chance by Cade Bell. I have no clue why he was treated like trash by the Bells. His attributes have been well said by Flacat & I agree with him. If I was one of the QBs not playing, I would leave the Catamounts in a New York minute. I also would look very carefully at signing a scholarship to play for the Catamounts if I was a QB. It seems the Bells load up with Wide Receivers & QBs when they should be building depth on the Defensive side of the ball. Western will never win the SoCon if they do not put a sound defense on the field. This season was a perfect example of this. Ranked high in offensive production in the SoCon with one of the weakest defenses in the SoCon. You don’t have to be a Football Expert to figure this out. |

I wish the qb's that have decided to move on nothing but good luck and playing time wherever they end up.
I, personally see things differently when it comes to Coach Bell and Coach Kade Bell. I am pleased that after a year and a half, they have taken us from a 1 to 2-win seasons to 6 and 5 season with probably the youngest team in the SoCon.
