On the one Furman board I saw the fans are saying Furman should bus the students in and since Western is on fall break this could make a huge difference in the home field feel yea the WCU students on yik yak (a college student messaging app) are talking about it. Safe to say they aren’t happy about it… definitely will be a pretty charged atmosphere to say the least |

We beat Chattanooga, the second best team in the SoCon behind Western Carolina. Furman is good and Mercer cannot be overlooked but we should win those games. Coach has this team focused and they are taking one game at a time. We will score enough points to win all of the rest of our games if we prepare and protect the football. If Desmond is hurt and cannot play that could be a factor but we have 2 and maybe 3 other backs behind him that would start at any other SoCon team. Desmond is the best RB in FCS and would star for many FBS schools. He is the best player on the field in every game except for Arkansas. Keep the faith. We will win all the rest. Well Flacat, I just watched FU play Samford. Based on what I saw, the Furman Game will tell us just how good our Offensive Line is this season. Their QB & the Running Back are very good runners. You can rest assured they will be coming after Cole. They will be the best FCS Team we’ll play this season. Right now I sure hope the Bells have a great game plan for the FU Game. We know how good our O-line is. Chat was leading the conference in Sacks and they had Zero against us. I have no idea who will win but I will be yelling for and pulling for The Cats. We will move the ball on them and score. They will need to do the same. I will put Desmond up against any back in FCS. I doubt that FUrmans RB is half as good as Desmond. Furman is loaded with a bunch of talented upperclassmen but they are slow compared to us. You might be right that Furman will stomp us and if we do lose, we are still having a great year. |

That and someone posted on the app something along the lines of “Furman has 14 championships to WCUs 0” from the Furman board and then someone screenshoted it and posted it, Either way I’m all here for it! I watched the game too. Samford had a chance to win the game. Furman had nine sacks and put a lot of pressure on the QB. It appeared to me that FU was slow and little speed. I think they will struggle with our speed. Go Cats! We got to Heirs a few times too in our win. I see UTC held Mercer to 88 yards in the first half, and only 4 on the ground, which says a little something about our offense. |

They may bring some of their older wine and cheese crowd fans but they will not come close to taking the home field away. It’s just a bunch of Furman punks running their mouths and talking junk. I say let them talk and we will do our talking on the field. Furman will not be able to stop our offense. They may score a lot on us but they are going to have to score a bunch to beat us. The 28 points that they scored today will not be enough. Let’s line up and may the best team win. |

My main point is how the student body is responding to it because truly I didn’t expect it… I truly believe there’s a huge difference in the fanbase compared to last year and I hope it continues! |
