I agree with you Jim but judging by the game yesterday he gives a better chance to win than Will does. When Tyrie turned his back on the team by misbehaving & breaking team rules, I lost all respect for him. A Captain of The Team needs to set an example for the rest of the team by showing positive behavior. Play calling had a lot to do with how the game turned out yesterday. It is very interesting that the Offensive Coordinators waited until the 4th Quarter before they allowed Will to run the Football. The short passing game is effective when it produces first downs. I have to say having 2 Offensive Coordinations is not working & this is another Coaching decision made by Coach Speir that appears to be a failure. For whatever reason, Randy Eaton has never held Coach Speir accountable for his Coaching shortcomings on the field or for his lack of effective game preparations prior to game day. I like Coach Speir personally and wished his coaching ability matched his personality. The best thing he could do for the Football Program & for his future in College Football is to resign. However, I will not hold my breath on that suggestion.

Good to see the Chancellor with the team.

This is going to be awkward. Literally Brown nosing. When you see a picture like this is when the Head Coach knows he is in trouble & hopes the Chancellor has not come to the same conclusion. You don’t have to BROWN nose if you are a successful coach. I think maybe Dr. Brown’s husband will explain the big picture to her once they returned to the Chancellor’s residence. I also would highly suggest that a total evaluation of the Athletic Department needs to be made by Non WCU Personnel & work directly for the Chancellor. This report should include where the program is now & what needs to be done to develop a program that is highly successful. Randy Eaton needs to be evaluated & the non partisan report should be sent to Dr. Brown.

Not directed to anyone particular, but how about us not piling on and just celebrate the W. Enjoy the moment. Criticism of program & coach is deserved. Hopefully a thorough exam is conducted including whether or not we drop down a classification. Coaches and players may not be capable or making the right decisions, but I think they are working hard. It's our University and counterproductive to be happy with someone else' failure. The team has made their path for rest of season extremely difficult.

I am not happy with the failures of the Football Team or Coaches. I think the posters on this Board are thoroughly disgusted with the Athletic Program & the Football Program in particular. If the Football Program has to be dropped to DII Status, that will because the University will not fund the FCS Program to be highly competitive against fellow FCS Members. I’m tired of WCU being the laughingstock of College Football. I do not possess the personality of a happy failure & make excuses for failure. Since Coach Speir reported for duty 8 years ago, I have been consistent in my concern he was not qualified to be a Head Coach at the FCS Level based on his resume. I also stated many times in the past that Randy Eaton came to WCU with no experience as an AD. The AD has been a failure if you look at the Athletic Records by each team he is responsible for overseeing. Coach Speir has a terrible overall W/L Record & a terrible overall W/L SoCon Record. My earlier concerns about these 2 men have become a reality & my reasoning from day one has been validated. A victory over a DII School at home by only 3 points is nothing to Crow about at this stage of the season. I’m sorry, I do not share your optimism or the soft peddling of the narrow victory over a weak opponent.

This makes me sick on my stomach and I'm furious!! Are we REALLY this pathetic? A "Super Bowl Like" celebration after squeezing out a win against North Greenville? Bob Waters is spinning and flipping over in his grave. I just thought to myself: "If this social media post makes it onto an App State fan forum, I may cry from shame." Where is our perspective? Yes, celebrate a win. But for the love of Christ, we had to come from behind and hang on to win against a Div II team. Now is the time to RESET our football program. And here's is what we should do: 1. Fire Speir after this season. Let him finish out the season. He deserves the chance to finish the season. Eat his contract. 2. Go triple option. Hire the OC at The Citadel. citadelsports.com/coaches.aspx?rc=1354&path=footballTriple option coaches aren't in high demand, so it may not cost us an arm and a leg to hire a coach while eating Speir's contract. Something dramatic needs to happen!!

I think the Chancellor and Coach needs to be aware how things are being perceived. In this particular instance. It's not a good look for either side despite the best intentions or simple joy of a victory. Maybe could have used some discretion and kept this video in the vault.
Beat Chat, gw' citadel and Wofford, then gloat some but not after last night in a game we should have won by 40.
