Wasn't his decision to leave. He was ask to leave. And a lot of d2 players were brought in. A lot of you complained that kids that weren't given a chance weren't talented enough to play at this level. Sad because at least 8 of them had to enroll at western for the fall and try to find a football home for the spring. It's unfortunate, but when there is a coaching change, some players almost always get short changed. It happens in every school that has scholarships. The coaching change at Western should have been made earlier, that's what has hurt many players the most, as the new staff must make their player adjustments quickly, and without a spring practice to judge talent.

Yes, the SOCON (and all of FCS) playing their conference schedules in the Spring really messed up the timing related to a coaching change. No real opportunity for the new staff to evaluate those who are/were already in Cullowhee.
All I'm looking for this Fall is some IMPROVEMENT. And two wins will be an improvement...

Woodie: I think there will be more than 2 wins. We had talent on the team - just not the right coaching which reflected in attitude/culture. I believe we could see as many as five wins - but that will take work and a lot of FAST change. It's only been 3 seasons (seems like forever) since we were actually competitive in the SoCon... Go Cats!

I wish him well. Probably would have not gotten playing time under the new regime. Who can blame him.

Yeah, I hope he does well there. He took off after fall season. Glad he got a chance someplace.

My recollection is that Wright's most success occurred on the first drive of the Liberty game.
After that, not much. Could be attributed to play calling.... I can't say.

I have no recollection of any outstanding or impressive play on his part. I think coach Bell's QBs will have memorable plays!

On the fall sports preview Zoom call last night, Coach Bell said he wanted to create competition to play at each position. It appears he won't have any favorites - he'll play the strongest players.

JUST WONDERING:
I noticed that with the updated roster, Coach Scales is listed, but the Grad transfer from Lehigh(Jaylen Floyd) is not as well as the Grad transfer from PC*(Ethan Williams). Does anyone know if they are Catamounts, or did they change their minds about being Catamounts this fall?
GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!
