I think 2 questions I had going into the games yesterday ( 9-17-22 ) were answered.... #1- Why was ETSU ranked in the FCS preseason top 25 poll ? and why were they still ranked after losing to the Citadel last week...Well I think that will be answered this week when the new FCS poll comes out and you can also stick a fork in ETSU as far as the SoCon Conference chase and title for this year.... #2- My question wasn't weather Wofford would win a game this year but instead would they score this year...Well with the give me TD by Virginia Tech that has also been answered....But I don't think scoring is going to help Conklin keep his job after this season.....

Thought the Offensive Line did a fine job yesterday. Protected the young QB. Opened some nice holes for young RB's.

Gonzalez's long ball is very shaky. I also like Cornett. He was supposed to walk on at UL or UK. Can't remember I was at the game. Gonzales might have spunk or whatever somebody said, but the most talented backup QB is Samuel Cornett and he can make all the plays. I bet he transfers though if he has to play behind Gonzalez. I would if I were him. He threw the nicest ball of the day in the 4th quarter. I think they like Gonzalez because his dad coached at Florida and there is a connection there. Just my opinion. it was a great win though. I hope we can handle Samford but it will be tough. |

In my opinion, if Gonzalez stays on the 2 deep, I see Cornett and other Freshmen QBs staying in Cullowhee. Cornett has too much raw arm talent to play behind Gonzales for 4 years. I know the coaches say that Gonzalez is a gamer. That means nothing in my opinion. You coach up the most talented that can make all the throws if you want to win. Being a “gamer” whatever that means, is great but with the portal, kids that have more raw talent will not sit behind less talented players because they are gamers. |
