This was posted in another thread... I follow the Pioneer League (graduated from University of San Diego in 1987) and would love to see WCU play non-scholarship Davidson. And I'd like another shot at Furman

Don't be shocked if we get slated to play somewhere out west if we win in round 1. The committee has historically like to do that to the SoCon. Also, don't be surprised if Mercer gets slated to face Furman in the 2nd round if they win. Setting up that type of game is something else the committee likes to do.
In the end, the field is set to maximize revenue first with some historic favoritism towards the Missouri Valley, Big Sky and lesser degree CAA.

I'll just be as HAPPY as a PIG IN SLOPP if we get in. Still a lot of work to do. Then, I really don't care where they send us.

Did you say "some"? only "some"? you should say "with historic favoritism"...

That is an interesting bracket prediction. If it somehow turns out that way I would be happpy to potentially have another shot at Furman. With a solid win tomorrow and the way the rankings are right now, I don't see how we could legitimately be left out but there is always that favoritism just mentioned.

Being a total homer here, and not saying that WCU gets in the playoffs, but here are legit arguments for the Cats:
1) 7 FCS wins, with 2 ranked wins over top 25 opponents 2) Strength of Schedule is solid for a bubble team 3) No non-D1 games 4) 2 close loses to teams who should be in the field 5) "Bad loss" came on the road to a team who finished .500 in the conference. 6) No blowout losses

Nice try homer! I appreciate your optimism. I really prefer to just stay out of the playoffs. Especially since we would be backing in. I'd rather stay out rather than take an embarrassing loss to Gardner Webb or Davidson.
